GOALS

St. Mary’s School has a three-fold purpose: to teach, to build community, and to serve. We are then committed to the following goals:

  • The student will grow in the knowledge and love of God and of the Church through prayer, good example, and service. S/he will be able to make correct moral choices based upon Christian values, and be able to distinguish right from wrong.
  • The student will be able to think critically, i.e. assess a situation, utilize prior knowledge, generate alternatives, make a logical and reasonable judgment, implement the plan and evaluate the result.
  • The student will learn a variety of academic and practical skills, enabling him/her to become a capable person in a wide range of life situations.
  • The student will develop an understanding and respect for the world’s various cultures and demonstrate an appreciation for the richness that cultural diversity brings to our human experience.
